On our first trip down "Tobacco Road" we got to spend the night out on the town with master blender and owner of Indian Tabac, Mr Rocky Patel. 10 years ago no one in the cigar industry gave Rocky a chance.
Of course like many entreprenures Rocky just rolled up the sleeves and did what it took to learn the trade and earn the respect of industry professionals. Now the initials RP and the signature line of botique cigars associated with the name Rocky Patel have a well established foothold in the premium cigar market.
Now a master blender, Rocky's latest offering of premium cigars have already scored high marks from Smoke Magazine, Cigar Insider and Cigar Aficionado Magazine. Of course we got to sample several sticks during the evening including the RP DecadeToro which rated a 91in Cigar Aficionado and the Old World Reserve Torpedo Maduro which garnerd a 9.5 rating in Smoke Magazine. Well, we guess with a name like Rocky its no wonder he has his feet firmly planted in the business. We certainly enjoyed Rocky's engaging personality as we watched him meet and greet cigar enthusiast throughout the evening and share tales of his long rode to success.
